Remarks of President-Elect Barack Obama-as prepared for delivery
Election Night
Tuesday, November 4th, 2008
Chicago, Illinois

If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.

It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different; that their voice could be that difference.

It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.

It's the answer that led those who have been told for so long by so many to be cynical, and fearful, and doubtful of what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.

It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America.

I just received a very gracious call from Senator McCain. He fought long and hard in this campaign, and he's fought even longer and harder for the country he loves. He has endured sacrifices for America that most of us cannot begin to imagine, and we are better off for the service rendered by this brave and selfless leader. I congratulate him and Governor Palin for all they have achieved, and I look forward to working with them to renew this nation's promise in the months ahead.

I want to thank my partner in this journey, a man who campaigned from his heart and spoke for the men and women he grew up with on the streets of Scranton and rode with on that train home to Delaware, the Vice President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden.

I would not be standing here tonight without the unyielding support of my best friend for the last sixteen years, the rock of our family and the love of my life, our nation's next First Lady, Michelle Obama. Sasha and Malia, I love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the White House. And while she's no longer with us, I know my grandmother is watching, along with the family that made me who I am. I miss them tonight, and know that my debt to them is beyond measure.

To my campaign manager David Plouffe, my chief strategist David Axelrod, and the best campaign team ever assembled in the history of politics - you made this happen, and I am forever grateful for what you've sacrificed to get it done.

But above all, I will never forget who this victory truly belongs to - it belongs to you.

I was never the likeliest candidate for this office. We didn't start with much money or many endorsements. Our campaign was not hatched in the halls of Washington - it began in the backyards of Des Moines and the living rooms of Concord and the front porches of Charleston.

It was built by working men and women who dug into what little savings they had to give five dollars and ten dollars and twenty dollars to this cause. It grew strength from the young people who rejected the myth of their generation's apathy; who left their homes and their families for jobs that offered little pay and less sleep; from the not-so-young people who braved the bitter cold and scorching heat to knock on the doors of perfect strangers; from the millions of Americans who volunteered, and organized, and proved that more than two centuries later, a government of the people, by the people and for the people has not perished from this Earth. This is your victory.

I know you didn't do this just to win an election and I know you didn't do it for me. You did it because you understand the enormity of the task that lies ahead. For even as we celebrate tonight, we know the challenges that tomorrow will bring are the greatest of our lifetime - two wars, a planet in peril, the worst financial crisis in a century. Even as we stand here tonight, we know there are brave Americans waking up in the deserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan to risk their lives for us. There are mothers and fathers who will lie awake after their children fall asleep and wonder how they'll make the mortgage, or pay their doctor's bills, or save enough for college. There is new energy to harness and new jobs to be created; new schools to build and threats to meet and alliances to repair.

The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America - I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you - we as a people will get there.

There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as President, and we know that government can't solve every problem. But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And above all, I will ask you join in the work of remaking this nation the only way it's been done in America for two-hundred and twenty-one years - block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand.

What began twenty-one months ago in the depths of winter must not end on this autumn night. This victory alone is not the change we seek - it is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were. It cannot happen without you.

So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other. Let us remember that if this financial crisis taught us anything, it's that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers - in this country, we rise or fall as one nation; as one people.

Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long. Let us remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House - a party founded on the values of self-reliance, individual liberty, and national unity. Those are values we all share, and while the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides that have held back our progress. As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, "We are not enemies, but friends...though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection." And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn - I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your President too.

And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces to those who are huddled around radios in the forgotten corners of our world - our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American leadership is at hand. To those who would tear this world down - we will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security - we support you. And to all those who have wondered if America's beacon still burns as bright - tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from our the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity, and unyielding hope.

For that is the true genius of America - that America can change. Our union can be perfected. And what we have already achieved gives us hope for what we can and must achieve tomorrow.

This election had many firsts and many stories that will be told for generations. But one that's on my mind tonight is about a woman who cast her ballot in Atlanta. She's a lot like the millions of others who stood in line to make their voice heard in this election except for one thing - Ann Nixon Cooper is 106 years old.

She was born just a generation past slavery; a time when there were no cars on the road or planes in the sky; when someone like her couldn't vote for two reasons - because she was a woman and because of the color of her skin.

And tonight, I think about all that she's seen throughout her century in America - the heartache and the hope; the struggle and the progress; the times we were told that we can't, and the people who pressed on with that American creed: Yes we can.

At a time when women's voices were silenced and their hopes dismissed, she lived to see them stand up and speak out and reach for the ballot. Yes we can.

When there was despair in the dust bowl and depression across the land, she saw a nation conquer fear itself with a New Deal, new jobs and a new sense of common purpose. Yes we can.

When the bombs fell on our harbor and tyranny threatened the world, she was there to witness a generation rise to greatness and a democracy was saved. Yes we can.

She was there for the buses in Montgomery, the hoses in Birmingham, a bridge in Selma, and a preacher from Atlanta who told a people that "We Shall Overcome." Yes we can.

A man touched down on the moon, a wall came down in Berlin, a world was connected by our own science and imagination. And this year, in this election, she touched her finger to a screen, and cast her vote, because after 106 years in America, through the best of times and the darkest of hours, she knows how America can change. Yes we can.

America, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is so much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves - if our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what change will they see? What progress will we have made?

This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time - to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth - that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:

Yes We Can. Thank you, God bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.

MCCAIN: Thank you. Thank you, my friends. Thank you for coming here on this beautiful Arizona evening.

[APPLAUSE]

My friends, we have -- we have come to the end of a long journey. The American people have spoken, and they have spoken clearly.

A little while ago, I had the honor of calling Senator Barack Obama to congratulate him. [BOOING]

Please. To congratulate him on being elected the next president of the country that we both love.

In a contest as long and difficult as this campaign has been, his success alone commands my respect for his ability and perseverance. But that he managed to do so by inspiring the hopes of so many millions of Americans who had once wrongly believed that they had little at stake or little influence in the election of an American president is something I deeply admire and commend him for achieving.

This is an historic election, and I recognize the special significance it has for African Americans and for the special pride that must be theirs tonight.

I've always believed that America offers opportunities to all who have the industry and will to seize it. Sen. Obama believes that, too.

But we both recognize that, though we have come a long way from the old injustices that once stained our nation's reputation and denied some Americans the full blessings of American citizenship, the memory of them still had the power to wound.

A century ago, President Theodore Roosevelt's invitation of Booker T. Washington to dine....

... at the White House was taken as an outrage in many quarters.

America today is a world away from the cruel and frightful bigotry of that time. There is no better evidence of this than the election of an African-American to the presidency of the United States.

Let there be no reason now...[APPLAUSE]

Let there be no reason now for any American to fail to cherish their citizenship in this, the greatest nation on Earth. [APPLAUSE]

Sen. Obama has achieved a great thing for himself and for his country. I applaud him for it, and offer him my sincere sympathy that his beloved grandmother did not live to see this day. Though our faith assures us she is at rest in the presence of her creator and so very proud of the good man she helped raise.

Sen. Obama and I have had and argued our differences, and he has prevailed. No doubt many of those differences remain.

These are difficult times for our country. And I pledge to him tonight to do all in my power to help him lead us through the many challenges we face.

I urge all Americans...[APPLAUSE]

I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together to find the necessary compromises to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited.

Whatever our differences, we are fellow Americans. And please believe me when I say no association has ever meant more to me than that. [APPLAUSE]

It is natural. It's natural, tonight, to feel some disappointment. But tomorrow, we must move beyond it and work together to get our country moving again.

We fought -- we fought as hard as we could. And though we feel short, the failure is mine, not yours.

[AUDIENCE: No!]

I am so...

I am so deeply grateful to all of you for the great honor of your support and for all you have done for me. I wish the outcome had been different, my friends.

[AUDIENCE MEMBER, OFF-MIKE: We do, too]

The road was a difficult one from the outset, but your support and friendship never wavered. I cannot adequately express how deeply indebted I am to you.

I'm especially grateful to my wife, Cindy, my children, my dear mother... [APPLAUSE]

... my dear mother and all my family, and to the many old and dear friends who have stood by my side through the many ups and downs of this long campaign.

I have always been a fortunate man, and never more so for the love and encouragement you have given me.

You know, campaigns are often harder on a candidate's family than on the candidate, and that's been true in this campaign.

All I can offer in compensation is my love and gratitude and the promise of more peaceful years ahead.

I am also -- I am also, of course, very thankful to Governor Sarah Palin, one of the best campaigners I've ever seen...[APPLAUSE]

... one of the best campaigners I have ever seen, and an impressive new voice in our party for reform and the principles that have always been our greatest strength... [APPLAUSE]

... her husband Todd and their five beautiful children... [APPLAUSE]

... for their tireless dedication to our cause, and the courage and grace they showed in the rough and tumble of a presidential campaign.

We can all look forward with great interest to her future service to Alaska, the Republican Party and our country. [APPLAUSE]

To all my campaign comrades, from Rick Davis and Steve Schmidt and Mark Salter, to every last volunteer who fought so hard and valiantly, month after month, in what at times seemed to be the most challenged campaign in modern times, thank you so much. A lost election will never mean more to me than the privilege of your faith and friendship.

I don't know -- I don't know what more we could have done to try to win this election. I'll leave that to others to determine. Every candidate makes mistakes, and I'm sure I made my share of them. But I won't spend a moment of the future regretting what might have been.

This campaign was and will remain the great honor of my life, and my heart is filled with nothing but gratitude for the experience and to the American people for giving me a fair hearing before deciding that Sen. Obama and my old friend Sen. Joe Biden should have the honor of leading us for the next four years.

[BOOING] Please. Please.

I would not -- I would not be an American worthy of the name should I regret a fate that has allowed me the extraordinary privilege of serving this country for a half a century.

Today, I was a candidate for the highest office in the country I love so much. And tonight, I remain her servant. That is blessing enough for anyone, and I thank the people of Arizona for it.

[APPLAUSE]

[AUDIENCE: USA. USA. USA. USA.]

Tonight -- tonight, more than any night, I hold in my heart nothing but love for this country and for all its citizens, whether they supported me or Se. Obama -- whether they supported me or Sen. Obama.

I wish godspeed to the man who was my former opponent and will be my president. And I call on all Americans, as I have often in this campaign, to not despair of our present difficulties, but to believe, always, in the promise and greatness of America, because nothing is inevitable here.

Americans never quit. We never surrender. [APPLAUSE]

We never hide from history. We make history.

Thank you, and God bless you, and God bless America. Thank you all very much.

Motivation to Get You Outta the Friend Zone...

Only just a friend,
The love story begins,
Now here's a happy ending to believe in.
And always there for me,
Now you're with me in my dreams
It's got me wondering if you ever,
Dream of me.
I don't wanna risk losing everything.
But I'll take the chance and tell you what I'm thinking.
Girl, you'll be my best friend,
Can we put this to bed then?
Tonight's the night
To cross the line
Baby won't you be mine?
Not just my homegirl
Time that I take you home girl
Tonight's the night
To cross the line
Let me love you tonight.
I...I....I....
Kiss. Kiss. Kiss me on my lips
We've been dancing 'round the moment
Now we're doin' it.
Breathe. Breathe.
And sigh your sweet relief
We've been holding it so long,
The wait was killing me.
Oh and we, are what we, have been waiting for.
So baby, open your mind, while I close the door.
Oh girl. you'll be my best friend,
Can we put this to bed then?
Tonight's the night
To cross the line
Baby won't you be mine?
Not just my homegirl
Time that I take you home girl
Tonight's the night
To cross the line
Let me love you tonight.
I...I...I...
Don't let this moment just slip away.
'Cause we'll never know, unless we try someday
If you're ready, I'm so ready
Tonight's the night
Tonight's the night.
Oh girl. you'll be my best friend,
Can we put this to bed then?
Tonight's the night
To cross the line
Baby won't you be mine?
Not just my homegirl
Time that I take you home girl
Tonight's the night
To cross the line
Let me love you tonight.
I...I...I... (x2)

Trying to Understand a Mccain Voter Amogst my Peers

I would like to think that this is just anti-Mccain propoganda, that not all Mccain voters are white minority hating hicks still living in the 50s. So I chatted with a friend of mine who is going to vote for Mccain and this is his reasoning why. (Just letting you know, he is a Mexican American Jehovahs Witness living in Los Angeles for those that want background).

My Friend: lol i honestly dont care, im voting mccain because everyone else is voting obama

Of course, these are the responses that my peers give out individually.

[12:13] Friend #1: lol
[12:13] Friend #1: best answer ever

[12:33] Friend #2: are you kidding me? lol

[11:58] Friend #3: lmao
[11:58] Friend #3: friggin

[13:18] Friend #4: stupid person

People should be allowed to vote who they want, but the person they want to vote for should represent their interests as well. However, this is America, and hopefully people who haven't registered to vote will realize that people like "My Friend" will be at the booths.

Shit That Annoy Me Volume 1

- People who post on your event invite in Myspace/Facebook saying that they cant go. Thanks a lot, you made the upcoming event LAME, thats why there is a NOT ATTENDING box already.

- Chicks that are not conscious of leading a dude on. Act like you fuckin' know when a dude is up on you, which leads to....

- Dudes that assume the Chick will get the hint. It's 2008. Be direct fellas, because you can drop a million hints and a chick will ACT LIKE SHE DOESNT KNOW (and a good chance that SHE WONT KNOW). At least if you're honest (read: the novel idea of actually telling her you 'like' her), she can no longer act like she doesn't know.

- Dudes that want to roll deep to a club/lounge without chicks (Don't have to be Girlfriends) of their own. Okay, 2 is cool. 3 is okay. But if it gets more than that without a couple Estrogen representatives from your crew, then you're in Party Foul Violation for turning the spot into a "Cack-Fest."

- Dudes who can't live up to their online (read: Facebook/Myspace) reputation. You're not a player, you just type a lot.

- Chicks who want to "still be friends" after they reject the dude. You're not Mother Teresa in sparing a friendship, you're just a Ball Tickler. Get over it, you have enough friends already.

- To add to that, Dudes who try too damn hard to be friends with the Chick that rejected them. Face it homie, you're just dick under glass, break only in an emergency.

- Dudes that say "They are just picky." Honestly, only chicks and dudes who have a different date every other day are allowed to say that. Note, why chicks? Because dudes ask them out.

Jacked From a Friend's Blog

"Inside the snow globe on my father's desk, there was a penguin wearing a red-and-white-striped scarf. When I was little my father would pull me into his lap and reach for the snow globe. He would turn it over, letting all the snow collect on the top, then quickly invert it. The two of us watched the snow fall gently around the penguin. Then penguin was alone in there, I thought, and I worried for him. When I told my father this, he said, 'Don't worry, Susie; he has a nice life. He's trapped in a perfect world.'"

- Excerpt from The Lovely Bones

Sounds interesting already... Time to add to my want to read list...

12 Years Gone By, and They Still Love Him

Where were you when Pac died?

I was 16 years old. School barely started, it might have been my first week. Before I got immersed in extra curricular activities, I went home promptly at 2:15. I didn't have my license yet, so I walked it out, got back at my house at around 3:00. First order of business when I got home? I crash on bed, and turn up 92.3 the beat at the time to listen to Theo. Seven days before the 13th, it was on the headlines that Pac got shot again after the Tyson vs. Seldon fight.

Laying on the bed, I slowly start to snooze as Theo announced to the listeners with sorrow in his voice. While struggling to enunciate his words, he confirmed that 2Pac died in the hospital where he was staying. Many listeners phone in shock about learning the news that we lost this Hip Hop icon. Rest in Peace. We still bump your music.

Birthdays were the worst days....

I always hate it when my birthday comes around. Normally I fib and say I don't like celebrating with friends because they are bent on making throw up, but on the real, my real fear is seeing who actually shows up on my birthday. I hate being one of those people who question the intentions of their own friends. Sure, I've been screwed before, been used before, and even been left alone before, but I'm at that point where I'm all about who's down for me at the moment. Trying to define constant companions is a timely manner that takes years upon years to build, and whoever was a constant for me this year may not be next year. We truly do not know who our constants are until a span of a couple years pass and we see who have been good with maintaining such contact.

Unfortunately, the birthday is that defining time to reflect on who you are. You question where your position is in life, and look to who support you later on. Frankly, I feel more comfortable on who's going to show up to my funeral, because I would not have to witness who shows and who doesn't. At least then I will be in such inner peace that these things won't matter to me. Case in point, my homegirl Tran, who lost her brother a couple years ago. During his funeral, a whole slew of his friends show up at the church. They even hung around the house after, a lot of them not knowing the family but thats how their devotion to him runs. Having that much love from my friends for my birthday is a wish I can ask for, but it shows that people take these things for granted when you are still alive.

Either way, I'm about to go to a bar, and get shitfaced with 5 or 10 of my friends at the given moment. I anticipate who shows up, but as I write this piece, I continue to stare into the world in my rear view.

The Value of the Constant

Let me take a break from these random picture and video posting and do what I do best, writing. While there has been a lot of things to talk about going in my life, I would like to focus on what me and my honorary older sister call, a 'constant.'

When people I haven't seen in ages ask me if I talk to this person, or that person, it comes with the pretense that I was close to this person at one point in my life. Now if the answer is 'no, I haven't seen this person in a while," I quickly get the response of "but you guys are so tight!" or "you guys were like family." I would then hit back, "They are no longer constants in my lives." It is not so much that I no longer care for them because I do, it is because we both (or we all) chose different directions in our lives.

So who do I define as a constant in my life? Anybody who mutually keeps in touch with me as much as I keep in touch with them. While there are people I still want to include as a constant in my life, I simply can't be the only one trying to reach out to them as much as I still have to respond back when they send me an IM. A constant in my life is someone I can talk to, someone I can grow with, someone who cares to be there as much as I care to be there myself. I have several constants in my life, most of them I knew for a long time and others I met recently. They know what is going on with my life as much as I know theirs. Even though we have communication through AIM and whatnot, I actually DO SEE my constants when I have extra time. No matter how many friends we all have on myspace or facebook, the number of constants in my life remains a small minority obviously.

There is no bitterness in my words though they may be easily misconstrued. Even if someones ready to give me the time, I still have to accept it as well and be willing to put in my time, which I don't have much lately. That is all determined with whatever you can bring to me. It sounds selfish but I can't really afford to be with people not growing, evolving, pretty much doing anything great in their improvement of their own lives. You are who you associate with, and I'd much rather associate myself with successfully ambitious people who are genuinely interested with my life.

Nas' Untitled Hits Number One

If you haven't copped this album yet, please do. This is by far one of the most thought provoking albums ever.

N.I.G.G.E.R. - Nas

Her Lovin' Gets Me Crazy.....

I regret not copping a chance to see M.I.A. perform because I heard she had a crazy stageshow at this year's Coachella. I followed her stuff when she broke out with her first single (least the first one I heard) 'Galang.' Admittedly I slept on her second album, Kala, with deep regret. And then I saw this video of her.

Damn.. She fine.

By the way, Kala is bananas. I'm still kickin' myself in the ass for not copping it last year.

Koi's Dissertation on Fox's Moment of Truth

[11:24] Mist: different questions will affect people differently
[11:24] Mist: they seem to make the questions exclusively to embarass you
[11:24] Mist: they interview u and ask u 50 questions by polygraph before they put u on the show
[11:25] Mist's Man: I'll agree with that
[11:25] Koi: Sweet
[11:25] Koi: I am embarassed by relatively little
[11:26] Koi: I'll make a big deal out of my parents or something, and cruise my way to 500k
[11:26] Koi: Gotcha bitches!!
[11:27] Koi: "Do you hate your little brother?????"
[11:27] Koi: *super pained face*
[11:27] Koi: "YES!!!!!!!!"
[11:27] Koi: *crowd gasps*
[11:27] Koi: "You've just won $500,000!!"
[11:28] Koi: That's when I'll get up and start dancing like Maury told me "You are NOT the father~!!"
[11:28] Koi: I'll robot all over the place
[11:29] Koi: Like Michael Jackson on the Dancin' Machine video

Evidence that Wayne is More Than Punchlines

TIE MY HANDS
Lil Wayne f/ Robin Thicke

I, knock on the door, hope isn't home,
fates not around, the lucks all gone
don't ask me whats wrong, ask me whats right
and ima tell you whats life
and did you know?
I lost everything, but I ain't the only one
first came the hurricane, then the morning sun
Excuse me if I'm on one, and don't trip if i light one, i walk a tight one
They try to tell me keep my eyes open
my whole city under water, some people still floatin
then they wonder why black people still voting, cause your presidents still chokin
Take away the football team, the basketball team
now all we got is me to represent New Orleans
no governor, no help from the mayor
just a steady beatin heart, and a wish and a prayer
Lets Pray..

GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED

ESPNsoccernet - PHOTO GALLERY

This is one of the reasons why I am one of the rare americans that love European Football ie "Soccer." Imagine if the NBA had something thats bigger than the NBA finals itself. Imagine if the top four teams from the NBA (out of the East and the West) squared off against the top four Basketball teams in other countries of the Western Hemisphere, like from the Argentine leagues, Brazillian leagues, and any other country that has the Basketball leagues. This is what Champions League is all about - the top teams (in Europe they're called clubs) in ALL OF EUROPE, meaning you will see a top team from Spain square off against a top team from Italy, etc, etc... This is quite possibly one of the biggest sports events in the world that saw MANCHESTER UNITED crowned the winners of the Champions League cup last night at Luziniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia.

The final was between Chelsea and Manchester United - the top 2 ENGLISH clubs. That's right. Out of all the clubs in Europe (including the great clubs from Spain and Italy), it is 2 English clubs that made the final. Keep in mind that Spain boasts one of the best clubs (Real Madrid and FC Barcelona) and Italy as well (Inter Milan, AC Milan, Roma). At the same time in Football season, Manchester United and Chelsea were duking it out at the top of the English League which saw Manchester United maintained the number one spot and Chelsea coming in as number 2. YES. MANCHESTER UNITED won the League cup AND Champions League, serving them the DOUBLE, making them the best in England, and the best in Europe IN THE SAME YEAR. While it may sound amazing, they pulled off a bigger feat almost 10 years ago. Alongside the England League (it's called the Premier League btw), there is also a tournament in England called the "FA Cup" in which the whole Premier League participates in a tournament against the lower league clubs (imagine MLB teams facing off against the minor league teams in a tournament) and clubs in Wales and Scottland. Manchester United would be the only club to win the "Treble" back in 99 - capturing the League, FA Cup, AND Champions League the same year. And for some interesting trivia, DAVID BECKHAM played on that Manchester United team that won the treble 10 years ago. Yes, this was David Beckham before he married Posh Spice.

So European Football season comes to a close. In Summer, there is a FIFA Club world tournament in which the winners of each continent play against each other to determine who is the best in the world - and Manchester United will be representing Europe obviously. For 2008, the year belongs to Manchester United. Glory Glory MAN UNIIIIIIIITTTTEEEEEED!

A Sex Convo

[14:20] 2dizz: if a girl was drinking and being very flirtatious, would you attempt to close the deal anyways
[14:20] fashiggity: if its only to me.. yeap
[14:21] fashiggity: but she gotta look decent
[14:21] 2dizz: even if you knew if she was sober and probably had these feelings she would probably hold off
[14:21] koiphish: Yup
[14:22] fashiggity: anything to break the tension
[14:22] koiphish: Back in the days, I was all about that chivalry bullshit, and I had the mistaken idea that women wouldn't do shit sober that they would drunk
[14:22] fashiggity: chivalry is something for role playing after you tax dat ass
[14:22] fashiggity: nelly furtado said it best
[14:23] fashiggity: chivalry is dead, but its still kinda cute
[14:23] koiphish: Nowadays, I'm aware that women use things like "drinking too much" as an excuse in their own minds to justify actions that they want to perform, but don't want to be judged for doing.
[14:24] fashiggity: yeah.. i think women are in transition of that so called sweet image they're supposed to portray
[14:24] fashiggity: to knowing what they want and out there pursuing it
[14:24] 2dizz’Wifey: it actually depends
[14:24] koiphish: A girl will find a way to justify shit in her own mind so that she feels "good" or "okay" about shit she's done.
[14:24] fashiggity: because i heard in europe.. women are aggressive
[14:24] 2dizz’Wifey: many women do, but i've almost done something very dumb being very drunk
[14:25] 2dizz’Wifey: luckily i started to sober up before i did
[14:25] koiphish: What, get married?
[14:25] koiphish: If it's good enough for Brittney Spears....
[14:25] 2dizz’Wifey: no, i almost slept with some guy that i really would've regretted sleeping with
[14:26] 2dizz’Wifey: he was cute, but i didn't really know him like that
[14:26] 2dizz’Wifey: i woulda been super pissed with myself
[14:26] fashiggity: now why would you have been super pissed about sleepin w/ dude
[14:27] 2dizz’Wifey: because i didn't know him... i fdon't just go hopping into bed with folks because they are cute. i think a lot of myself and i don't just go handing myself to every tom, dick, and harry to use
[14:27] koiphish: I'm of the mind that you're not gonna do something off the wall when you're drunk. You're gonna do stuff you want to do with the inhibitions turned off
[14:28] koiphish: That type of stuff generally won't computer to guys
[14:28] 2dizz’Wifey: anyway, he mde it to my house and i was like, wtf am i doing
[14:28] koiphish: To me? It's just sex.
[14:28] 2dizz’Wifey: and then i pretended i was sick
[14:28] koiphish: It's as natural as breathing, or eating, or drinking
[14:28] 2dizz’Wifey: so he would leave
[14:28] koiphish: I guess. I can't relate.
[14:29] 2dizz’Wifey: men are different from women
[14:29] 2dizz’Wifey: emotionally we operate differently
[14:29] 2dizz’Wifey: *shrugs*
[14:29] fashiggity: im in the same boat with koi
[14:29] 2dizz’Wifey: i know how i would feel about it
[14:29] 2dizz’Wifey: and i know i didn't even really like him
[14:29] koiphish: All this romanticized, mysterious, otherworldly emphasis on the act is as old as chivalry, to me.
[14:30] 2dizz’Wifey: not like that
[14:30] fashiggity: yeah
[14:30] fashiggity: i mean.. getting to know as a friend?
[14:30] fashiggity: the friend zone = no nalaga
[14:30] koiphish: I'm not knocking what you did, or your take on it, mind you.
[14:30] 2dizz’Wifey: if a woman sleeps with a man more than 3 times she gets attached (generally speaking)
[14:31] 2dizz’Wifey: he wasn't someone i had any desire to form an attachment to
[14:31] koiphish: Wow. Now THAT makes sense.
[14:31] 2dizz’Wifey: i've tried to figure out why women get attached after sleeping with a guy
[14:31] 2dizz’Wifey: and my best guess is that it's because ur inviting someone INSIDE you
[14:31] 2dizz’Wifey: it's a very personal thing
[14:31] koiphish: I wish women would say that, instead of putting sex up on this crazy pedestal, like having sex makes them terrible people.
[14:31] fashiggity: exactly
[14:32] fashiggity: thats where it seemed this discussion is heading
[14:32] fashiggity: i mean, isnt that the 'emotional' bondage come from that ideology of 'sex is terrible' ?
[14:32] fashiggity: the idea that because they invite him in, they gotta put a ring in that?
[14:32] 2dizz’Wifey: i don't think sex is a terrible thing
[14:32] 2dizz’Wifey: sex is awesome
[14:33] 2dizz’Wifey: but to me, it's something i wnt to share with someone i care about
[14:33] 2dizz’Wifey: and it has nothing to do with a ring
[14:33] 2dizz’Wifey: it's just a natural emotional attachment
[14:34] 2dizz’Wifey: *shrugs*
[14:34] 2dizz’Wifey: i already know better
[14:34] koiphish: Not wanting to get attached makes sense. Getting attached because you're having sex with someone makes sense. Fighting desires merely for the sake of not being judged makes no sense, not to me.

The Roots "Birthday Girl" f/ Patrick Stump

So many knocked this song because its so crossover, but I stil dig it.

Thursday, April 10, 2008

all he wanted was a chick with his back....

This song best explains what I'm goin through right now (but change the emcee part with my day job AND my night job)...

Artist: Blu & Exile
Album: Below the Heavens
Song: Blu Colla Worker

please don't take it personal
but I gotta go and work some more
and I know deep down it hurt ya soul
but I'm a blue collar worker, girl(2x)

now it's a long road ahead of me
eyes wide open trying to rock my flow steadily
trying to stay focus so these broads don't get to me
but dog it gets hard cuz they sing so heavenly
humming 'Stay With Me' trying to make my day as sweet
as some Tiombe on a sunday, with a cup of Angel's tea
I'm trying to find the happiness that couples claim to be
but it's hard to balance loving when you busting over beats
sounds strange but it's hard to explain it over beats
in the lab daily rocking two or three shows a week
going mad crazy stressing over press and your release
trying to please labels while you keep your rep up in the streets
at the same time trying to breath
and on my down time, trying to find a fine breeze
but see I'm underground so now I gotta find cheese
just to take her out to dinner, just to eat and get a kiss up on the cheek
but for me it's even harder, cuz I ain't got a car to pick them up in
so chicks already think they put enough in
plus I'm kind of cute so it's hard for them to trust him
asking what I'm doing every night like I be screwing every night, what?
truth is, I'm bruising every mic that I come across
and every now and then, drop a hundred off
just so you can fucking floss, but that's not enough for you
so I take another loss, wondering why I fucked with you
knowing I got stuff to do

and I wont take it personal
but deep down it hurt my soul
but i'll just go and work some more
cuz I'm a blue collar worker, girl(2x)

they say misery loves company...word?
but I don't need shit, so don't come to me
and I don't eat dick, so don't cum to me
when you see me in a fucking beamer leaning tuff as fiends with winter fever
ya nose itching, hoes wishing he was a keeper
fucked up girl, he was a keeper
fuck the papers, shit, he was the reefer
now he's meaner than meaner
was sweet now he keeps his heart next to his nina
and you used to see him, saving up his money from shows
to get her a rose, turning down ridiculous hoes
all he wanted was a chick with his back, but his chippers was wac
now he adding on the royce when he rolls
sounds smoother with his voice when he flows, missed out
keep woofing all you want girl, I'm in a brick house
with a thick spouse, pimped out, blue diamond dripped out
in my helicopter luv, fuck ya little benz, bounce
fuck you think I work for huh?

please don't take it personal
but I gotta go and work some more
and I know deep down it hurt ya soul
but I'm a blue collar worker, girl(2x)

American Idol Overseas

Had to jack it off of Pat's Labyrinth. Makes me think twice in attempting to sing a foreign song.

I WANTED to BELIEVE this was real...

This trailer looked A LOT BETTER than that SHITTY Speed Racer trailer. It's probably the reason why I got duped yesterday on April fools.

Ooops

In response to this article.

[14:14] 2dizzy: Unfortunately, his wife was outside and caught the bullet in the chest. She was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. On the upside, Ronald now has DirecTV. Silver linings, people.

[17:21] 2dizzy: I don't know how I feel about that story
[17:21] 2dizzy: part of me find it a good read
[17:21] 2dizzy: another part of me is upset
[17:22] 2dizzy: and another part finds it funny the closer we get the more they are portraying Obama as the anti christ
[17:22] Fashiggity: exactly
[17:22] Fashiggity: its not obama as the anti christ.. its the idea of 'anger'
[17:24] 2dizzy: that too
[17:24] Fashiggity: thats why i was wondering what is the ethnicity of the writer
[17:24] 2dizzy: Bush got upset and we've been in a bullshit war for 7 years
[17:24] Fashiggity: for him to kinda compare two to ethinic groups
[17:25] Fashiggity: *two
[17:26] 2dizzy: I was wondering that as well the beginning I thought he may be of vietamese or asian heritage, but as I read on I'm like this dude has to be white
[17:26] Misty: my opinion on the article
[17:27] Misty: the article doesn't consider the hundreds of years that black people in this country enslaved, then oppressed, basically told that they would make nothing of themselves
[17:27] Misty: that they could be nothing
[17:27] Misty: and it transfers from generation to generation
[17:28] Misty: ur taught your parents and grandparents anger and then on top of that when you are mistreated it makes u even angrier
[17:28] Misty: those people came to america seeking a better life, thinking it would be a better life
[17:29] Misty: black people have been here for hundreds of years and have endured hundreds of years of mistreatment
[17:29] Misty: it will take mor ethan 20 years to turn that tide around
[17:30] Misty: i mean its common knowledge that they sent crack into inner city neighborhoods on purpose
[17:30] Misty: it's been admitted
[17:30] Misty: it's a big vicious cycle that's been going on for soooo long
[17:31] Misty: it's amazing how people can be so short sighted and think just because the resources have been available in the past twenty years or so that things should suddenly be different
[17:31] Misty: do u think these people don't remember?
[17:31] Misty: of course they are angry.
[17:32] Misty: i'm not saying that should be an excuse to do poorly, to not attempt to have something bad
[17:32] Misty: but i do understand where it starts
[17:32] Misty: have something better*
[17:34] 2dizzy: 'Don't trust new niccas over yonder.....'

A Discussion

In response to this article:
http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/03/obamas_anger.html

[19:25] Fashiggity: i cant picture myself putting my name on this article if i wrote it
[20:54] MixedMike: people usually don't like hearing the truth
[20:54] MixedMike: even less so when it's the truth about their motivations, actions, or lack there of.
[20:55] MixedMike: myself especially. =P
[20:55] Fashiggity: the truth is only as valuable as it's received
[20:55] MixedMike: true
[20:57] MixedMike: i think he presented it in such a way that it can be motivational and its truth would be self eveident without having to beat someone over the head with it.
[20:58] Fashiggity: the reason why im curioius as the ethnicity of the writer
[20:59] Fashiggity: is because i mildly disagree that we shouldnt try to involve the 'anger' of race relations, etc..
[21:00] MixedMike: well i'm sure you could find out the ethnicity of the author without too much trouble.. i really havn't been interested enough to look
[21:01] MixedMike: as for anger in race relations, i think that a certain amount of anger is okay, but if you use it as an excuse to do nothing, then it's a waste of time
[21:01] Fashiggity: true
[21:02] Fashiggity: but he does marginlizes all african americans as wanting to 'owe' something
[21:02] Fashiggity: when there are actual african americans that succeeded on their own merit
[21:02] Fashiggity: and bases that in comparison to the asian american experience
[21:03] Fashiggity: its a touchy area when a person from one ethnicity critiques another ethinicty foreigh to his/her own
[21:03] Fashiggity: *forein
[21:03] Fashiggity: *foreign.. grrr typos
[21:03] MixedMike: haha it's okay
[21:03] MixedMike: he does generalize but i think that those generalizations hold water
[21:04] MixedMike: it's a small part of the black community that has done well for themselves, and those few are told that they sold out, or are called "uncle toms"
[21:05] MixedMike: i direct you again to clarence thomas
[21:06] MixedMike: he should be a shining example for the black community and yet he's held in contempt, in contrast kobe bryant or any superstar athlete is a hero.
[21:06] MixedMike: but then again, the concept of being "owed something" is not unique to the black community
[21:06] Fashiggity: true.. but thats another argument within itself
[21:06] MixedMike: i can see that in the asian community
[21:07] Fashiggity: it is his opinion to which i agree.. but at the same time we should agree that as one (or more) ethnicities, we will never understand hows it like being another ethnicity
[21:07] Fashiggity: we always see it from the outside biased from our personal experiences
[21:07] MixedMike: the fact that a lot of my friends parents did well for themselves, their kids, my friends, feel like they deserve to have all the money and the privilages that go with their status without the work that goes along with it
[21:07] Fashiggity: and its something that i myself learned never to touch upon
[21:08] MixedMike: i suppose thats the safe approach and except for this one instance it's something that i've gone along with myself
[21:09] MixedMike: but i think that people need to learn to get beyond race, because in america of 2008
[21:09] MixedMike: if you can not do well for yourself, it's not because someone else is holding you back
[21:09] MixedMike: it's because you're holding yourself back
[21:10] MixedMike: whether it's ambition, motivation, or desire.. you have to be lacking in one or more of those things to not succeed in the amercia of today.
[21:11] Fashiggity: i agree
[21:11] Fashiggity: and race is yet an obstacle, exclusive to people of color.. and while i stand by this fact, im not advocating using it as an excuse.. its a hurdle we need to get over
[21:12] MixedMike: i agree
[21:13] MixedMike: but i contend that it has now become an obstacle largely in the persons mind and rarely if ever institutional or enforceable.
[21:13] Fashiggity: look at obamas run for the nomination to the presidency as an example
[21:13] MixedMike: hmm?
[21:14] Fashiggity: if people werent celebrating the fact that hes a brotha that won new hampshire
[21:14] Fashiggity: then yes, i say race does not exist at all
[21:14] Fashiggity: and of course its not so much there are people still prejudiced by a black president.. he gets more flack from his own community whether or not he's 'representing them right'
[21:17] MixedMike: how society percieves race is one thing.. and it's interesting to watch the democrat race
[21:17] MixedMike: but my comments go to the individual
[21:18] MixedMike: i think the voluntary segregation of the races is part of the problem
[21:18] MixedMike: and is most of the reason why race relations haven't gotten better
[21:18] MixedMike: people would rather think of themselves as black, mexican or asian, than as an american.
[21:18] MixedMike: even the people who use all the hyphens =P
[21:19] Fashiggity: mm hmm
[21:20] MixedMike: i think my point of view is widened by the fact that i'm mixed and have kind of an ambigious affiliation to the asian culture
[21:20] MixedMike: but it's with a kind of one foot in/out deal

Personal Update

New updates where I am for the 1 or 2 who reads this:

- I went PERM a Disney! YAH BABY! Surely, I'm going to go through a different set of bullshit but at least it'll be a little harder for me to hit the unemployment line. Let me see, I been here since 2003 and it took me friggin 5 years to find something permanent, right in time for the recession, yay. Hopefully the new president will get us out of that rut.

- I'm still doing the video thing and shit, I'm laggin on the project, not to mention I have 2 weddings coming up. Hopefully the After Effects session with Brian tomorrow will take my shit to the next level and get me motivated to edit again.

- The manga is in full effect! I realized that it takes a long time to actually finish a chapter. Ever watched American Splendor? Thats how its coming together. The manga version of Harvey Peckar homie!

Anyways, I think I need to roll because P is waiting for me to get off her comp. Anyways, see ya next month on the personal update!

Caught This on a Myspace Blog..

FILM DISTIBUTION ADVICE:

My company, Brazos Pix produces, distributes, and sells films for independent filmmakers.

The film distribution business has changed radically in the past two years. These days all of the distributors are seeking movies with "name" actors. A "name" actor is someone whose name was above the title on a successful feature film released by a major studio.

If your film does not have a "name" actor, you should use the film festival circuit to give your film a "name" reputation. If your movie screens at one of the important festivals then it will have a "name" reputation among the distributors.

The most important festivals are the ones the distribution acquisition executives attend. Those festivals are: Sundance, Slamdance, Tribeca, Toronto, Cannes (three sections), Berlin, Rotterdam, Venice, Telluride, LA Independent, AFI/LA, AFI/Dallas, SXSW, Locarno, Edinburgh, New York, San Francisco, San Sebastian, and New Directors-New York.

There are thousands of indie films being made. Getting accepted into prestigious film festivals is very competitive and difficult. As a filmmaker you have two assets that can give you leverage in your movie’s successful festival submission: the film’s length and the world premiere.

Your movie should have a maximum running time of 90-96 minutes total (including credits.) Very few movies play well at longer running times. The length is critical to getting accepted into prestigious festivals. As an example, Playtone Pictures (Tom Hanks’ company) has a rule that none of their features can run longer than 96 minutes. You want the audience to leave the theater wanting more, not less.

The world premiere of your film is very important to the film festival programmers. They are very competitive with their counterparts at other festivals. They like discovering new films, but they really love hosting the world premiere. Also, do not discount the importance of the European premiere, the North American premiere, and the U.S. premiere.

Submit your film at the earliest deadline possible. This allows the festival programmers to discover your film. Because there are thousands of indie films, the programmers are overwhelmed by the volume of last minute applications. Submitting at the last deadline makes it impossible for your film to get into these festivals, especially if you do not have any "name" actors.

If your film is rejected by one festival, then move on to the next one. Be a shark and keep moving forward. It is a waste of time to re-submit to the same festival the next year. This process of submitting to the important festivals will take at least a year. Patience is required.

Good luck,

Britney In a Shell

Thanks A for letting me know about this vid. Gosh, I was hoping she'd do some dancing for this specific song (on Break the Ice, there's a break in the song that showcases cool 808 drum sequence that I know many dance troupes are going to bust some crazy moves on), but the video still looks hot (for all you anime Cowboy Bebop Aeon Flux Ghost in a Shell fans out there). I wished they made Britney thicker though. :-X

2Dizz Chronicles: "Get Like Me"

This is a truncated version since the uncut version is a lil too graphic.

"Get Like Me" - A game where one person does something, and the other person follows, and it's usually a f'd up action like sockin someone in the face, and the other people have to do the same.

[17:22] 2dizz: so my older brother takes the pipe and throws it off the first street bridge
[17:23] 2dizz: little did he know, or maybe he did, that he'd have the arm to hit a car in parking lot about a block away
[17:23] fashiggity: SHIT
[17:23] Koiphish: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
[17:23] Koiphish: Goddamn, you guys are walking disasters
[17:23] 2dizz: so knowing my younger brother were not strong enough to compete with his arm stregnth he said, 'just hit a car'
[17:24] fashiggity: LMAO
[17:24] fashiggity: thats so f'd
[17:24] 2dizz: so we picked a rock off the bridge and throw a car below
[17:24] 2dizz: it hits the window, nothing happens
[17:25] 2dizz: so my older brother grabs a rock and say, if you want to hit a car right below us you have to use force like this
[17:25] 2dizz: and off goes the rock and another broken window
[17:26] 2dizz: so my little brother and I figure, we may want a bigger rock, that will definately break a window
[17:26] 2dizz: low and behold just as we were about to get off the bridge a rock layed waiting
[17:26] 2dizz: oh this was a beautiful rock
[17:27] 2dizz: easily 6x4
[17:27] Koiphish: lolololololol
[17:27] 2dizz: quite heavy as it took both of us to balance it on the bridge
[17:27] 2dizz: I guess deep down I aimed for the pick up in hopes of hitting the cab with this rock
[17:28] 2dizz: as I knew for sure it was going through a window
[17:30] 2dizz: so up it went on the rail of the bridge
[17:31] 2dizz: both my brother and I trying to balance it to drop it on this silver pick up
[17:31] 2dizz: so as it was lined up off it went
[17:32] 2dizz: everything went into slow motion
[17:32] fashiggity: LMAO
[17:32] 2dizz: that rock went into the front window of the unsuspecting pickup below
[17:32] 2dizz: it didn't just hit
[17:32] 2dizz: it hit shattered and went through
[17:33] 2dizz: so my brother and I are going ape shit on the bridge for taking out an entire front window
[17:33] 2dizz: until it happened
[17:33] 2dizz: a guy was in the truck
[17:33] 2dizz: not just a guy
[17:33] 2dizz: but a guy with a chick
[17:33] Koiphish: :O
[17:33] Koiphish: :'D
[17:33] 2dizz’ Wifey: y'all coulda killed somebody
[17:33] 2dizz’ Wifey: again.
[17:33] 2dizz: let's just say she was a member of the worlds oldest profession
[17:34] fashiggity: LOLOLOLOL
[17:34] 2dizz: dude get's out of the car with his pants around his kness and ankles
[17:34] Koiphish: LMAO
[17:34] fashiggity: LMAO LMAO
[17:35] 2dizz: so our stupid ass is on the bridge making fun of dude
[17:35] Koiphish: HAHAHAHAHA
[17:36] 2dizz: he hops back in the car/truck
[17:36] fashiggity: OH SHIT
[17:36] 2dizz: kicks out his front window
[17:36] Koiphish: Aw hell yeah
[17:36] fashiggity: LMAO
[17:36] 2dizz: and smashes towards us on the bridge
[17:37] 2dizz: so when we see dude at the base of the bridge we haul ass
[17:38] 2dizz: so for recap I'm a little kid and this motherfucca is on the bridge now trying to kill us
[17:38] 2dizz: well me and my younger brother
[17:38] 2dizz: as he could have clearly got my older brother first
[17:38] 2dizz: so we're smashing trying to get off the bridge
[17:39] 2dizz: we're hitting parking lots
[17:39] 2dizz: streets
[17:39] 2dizz: all through K-town in downtown
[17:39] 2dizz: 1st through 3rd street
[17:39] 2dizz: this dude isn't quitting
[17:39] 2dizz: so my older brother say we have to split up
[17:39] fashiggity: ktown is a place you dont wanna be at late at nite without a car
[17:40] 2dizz: he banks down a street
[17:40] 2dizz: my younger brother and I still together
[17:40] Koiphish: He just left his bitch to hoof it home on the bridge!
[17:40] 2dizz: I didn't want to leave him and I don't think he wanted to leave me
[17:40] 2dizz: no, dude is in his car
[17:41] 2dizz: so we're running through the parking lot on 1st and alameda
[17:41] Koiphish: Right. Without his girl
[17:41] 2dizz: and my younger brother trips over a parking stop
[17:41] 2dizz: yes
[17:41] Koiphish: This is where you'd have to leave him behind in the movies.
[17:42] 2dizz: so when my brother fell dude comes within inches of running him over
[17:42] Koiphish: Cats would be yelling at the screen saying "DON'T GO BACK FOR HIM!!"
[17:42] fashiggity: ROFL
[17:42] 2dizz: he jumps out the truck snatches my brother up and he yelling
[17:42] 2dizz: I stop and see this and I can't let this white guy just snatch up my brother
[17:43] 2dizz: much less yell at him
[17:43] 2dizz: so I run back and participate in momment of why shit on tv won't work in real life
[17:44] Koiphish: LMFAO
[17:44] 2dizz: I'd figured I could jump off a car and drop kick dude
[17:44] 2dizz: that shit did not work
[17:44] fashiggity: DROP KICK?!
[17:44] fashiggity: LOL
[17:44] Koiphish: Oh my God, I can't stop laughing
[17:44] 2dizz: I think it actually pissed him off as he threw my brother down and kicked the shit out of me
[17:44] fashiggity: Not just a kick
[17:44] fashiggity: a drop kick?!!!
[17:45] 2dizz: so my little brother takes one on dude
[17:45] 2dizz’ Wifey: well it wasn't his girl, it was a prostitute, right?
[17:45] 2dizz: it must've shook him cause he paused and just look at my brother
[17:45] Koiphish: Amarys, you are so late.
[17:46] 2dizz’ Wifey: *shrugs*
[17:46] 2dizz’ Wifey: lol
[17:46] 2dizz: at this time I was fucc it, a kick to the nuts will definately work right now
[17:46] 2dizz: so I kick dude and punch him in the face
[17:46] Koiphish: Goddamn
[17:46] 2dizz: that kick only made him mad, and the punch had no effect or he wasn't showing
[17:46] Koiphish: HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA
[17:47] 2dizz: as I tried to run away dude snatched up my ankle
[17:47] 2dizz’ Wifey: he must've been high on something.
[17:47] 2dizz’ Wifey: *shakes head*
[17:47] Koiphish: Motherfucker ate his spinach before he caught yoou guys up
[17:47] 2dizz: and wasn't letting go
[17:47] 2dizz’ Wifey: like some crack or something
[17:47] 2dizz: so my little brother kicked dude in the face
[17:47] 2dizz: he still didn't let go
[17:48] 2dizz: I guess my older brother must have doubled back by this time
[17:48] 2dizz’ Wifey: if we ever have kids, u are not allowed to tell them these stories until they have graduated from high school
[17:48] 2dizz: because out of nowhere all I seen was a fist
[17:48] 2dizz: saw*
[17:48] 2dizz: dude released my ankle
[17:49] 2dizz: and my older brother just commense to stomping this dude out
[17:49] 2dizz: and since we were still playing get like me, I joined in
[17:49] 2dizz: until the cops came
[17:49] 2dizz: well parking lot security and mall security
[17:49] fashiggity: so yalls had the nerve to continue to play get like me after that shit?!
[17:50] 2dizz: as soon as we seen those badges we ran all the way back home
[17:50] Koiphish: HO
[17:50] Koiphish: LY
[17:50] Koiphish: SHIT
[17:50] Koiphish: You were some fucking hoodlums.
[17:50] Koiphish: Great stories though
[17:50] fashiggity: yalls are the people my mom will tell me never to see again
[17:52] 2dizz’ Wifey: okay!
[17:52] 2dizz: it was funny and fucc'd up in a way, cause most of the people in the area only saw this crazy white man driving eradic and trying to run over two black kids

Unhappy With Your Wii?

Let me guess, other than the Nintendo Mario/Zelda/Metroid games and Wii Sports, all other Wii games suck, right? I agree, but there are hot titles for this hard to find console. Unfortunately for sports fans, there are none (unless you dont mind playing the type that does not have your favorite teams or real players.)

Honestly, Nintendo does not seem to care about the hard core gamers who also own a 360 and the PS3 and it's paying off because the Wii is still a bitch to find. It is a wider audience, but only time will tell when consumers will get tired of the Wii trend. Here are a couple things that will keep the Wii strong:

- Stop porting from the PS3 and the 360 to the Wii.
Nothing spells ASS like taking a very nice graphically superior game from the 360 and PS3 and trying to see how it looks on the graphically inferior Wii. I know, don't judge a book by its cover, but normally Wii ports are ass and the controls are ass with a shart flying to your face.

- Tweak the Engine of No More Heroes
It is a damn crime that No More Heroes (peep the video at the bottom of this post) has piss poor marketing. The controls are great and its a great gateway to the Wii if you've been raised on the traditional controller. It plays like a regular console game and the only time you wave your wiimote like a tool is when you perform a special finisher to your combo. If Nintendo Wii developers wanna make a Devil May Cry/Ninja Gaiden killer, look no further than this game's engine.

- Better marketing of the 3rd party companies that are not Nintendo and Capcom
The only games I enjoyed playing on the Wii come from Nintendo and Capcom (the Resident Evil 4 port and Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles. As someone from the bottom depths of the game industry, I only knew about No More Heroes from various sites and a couple people. (I don't know anybody that played Killer 7 btw).

- Come out with a Wii capable of 1080P displays
I don't know how long 480P will be hot, but if Nintendo converted its Gameboy Advance to Gameboy Advance SP, I have a feeling that we may see "WiiHD" in the future. Now that would be hot.

Baby Bro Dillemma

The douchebag brother I live with (whom I should be thankful for providing my a place to stay in LA) is trying to act all nice with me. Its no secret (whenever I vent to my other brother and friends) that the majority of our conversations is him acting like a douche, being pissy when I leave the light on, getting a fit because of one or two dishes in the sink, pretty much little shit here and there. This is the dilemma of being the younger brother - anything you say is bullshit because you're simply younger.

Him: Are you sure you place the recycle bins the correct way?
Me: Yes.
Him: I thought they were placed this way? Lets go outside to check!

Maybe he has some nice shit to say to me, but every compliment I get go through my ears. I learned to block out every negative shit he said to me and it culiminated to EVERY thing he says to me nice or bad. It turns into an annoyance because I have some more pressing shit to do (like veg out on the internet after 12 fuckin hours of work and working on my side projects). I'm hoping to land something permanent soon. I surely need to move the fuck away from here.

Despite That, I'd Still Hit That Like a Baseball Bat

Accidental Family Planning

"Be fruitful and multiply"
Genesis 1:28

When you live in a hustle bustle city like Los Angeles there is ALWAYS something to do. You are constantly around people who have something on the side whether its art or their own sidebusiness. Sure 90% of the people in this town are actual hacks (including myself directing my next documentary film: "Sam's Debut") , but in a city like this, no one is about to start a family on accident, which goes back to my hometown of San Bernardino, which my older brother describes that "There is nothing to do but procreate."

Now when I look at my friends from San Bernardino, I'd say a good 90% of them have children, and a smaller percentage not married. This is the consequence of living in a town that does not really have anything to do. Last night me and the homie Pat were discussing how every Filipino family has that one uncle that bore a couple illegitimate children in the Philippines over a bowl of ramen. (In a mock Filipino accent: yoo know, dere eeesh no T-Vs dere, and nawting to do!) When you are raised in a limited environment (ie, an environment that provides little entertainment and other activities that stimulate the mind), what is there left to do? Yes, everybody has a fuck or two but if you don't have any ambitions or other passions in life you are currently chasing, your mind goes "Fuck the condom, raw dog is where its at!" Love (not family love, but love for your mate) is one of the greatest activities ever. Yes I'm marginalizing it as an activity because love is not known to last (hello?! 50% divorce rate?). When you're dating someone in these type of towns and all you do is go to a 9 to 5 (which is more likely you wont be satisfied with), you have no choice but to look forward to that special person who's been dating you for half a year. From a dude's perspective, you watch the Lakers beat the shit out of the Heat while your chick patiently waits after serving you a beer and after that, bow chicka wow wow. Keep in mind, you're content with your career because you make enough money. The only next step is marriage.

Of course, the marriage thing is never planned. What is also never planned is the baby coming in 9th months. (There are exceptions to the rule, ie to the people who actually plan to have a child before marriage). Should you accept the child (not give it up for abortion or adoption), your life changes. That dream of becoming a rockstar is put on the shelf for the sake of that child as you put in them overtime hours to get your kid the proper care. This is what I see amongst my classmates in the old San Berdoo High. They seem happy through their myspace pictures but I myself cannot see myself putting my aspirations on the side for a kid. Thank goodness for my family for talking some sense to me when I brought home my first real girlfriend (and to add, shes actually the only person that I put my devotion to in my dating history). If I still lived in San Bernardino, there would be nothing else to look forward to. I still hope to direct my first film or music video (oh wait, I already did direct my first music video). I'm also enjoying life because I'm in control of it, well 90% of the time at least. I still hope to plant my seed and harvest it, but for now, I'd much rather enjoy everything else of what life has to offer.

And suffice to say, I think it is rather strange that my friends who have children are still partying their asses off, if not harder than I do myself. I surely hope to not end up doing that when I bring Cristiano Junior into the world. By that time, I should be established and becoming an example for my son (or my daughter who I may name Cristiana.. haha). Surely I'm saying that now knowing that I might still continue the habits after the kid comes. But till then, big ups to all the parents out there, because that is probably the hardest job in the world that you'll ever have.

Could Anyone Tell Me If There Are Other Music Videos Like This?!

Its shy of a year since I peeped "Clothes Off" by Gym Class Heroes and I say the video is STILL hot. Why? Because there are no green screens, no effects to make it look like a movie (like opening title captions and credits and such), hot girls (in bikinis and lingerie to add), a dope dance battle scene between furries and a dance crew. Its what a music video OUGHTTA be. Plus the song is hot too, STILL.

Rush Hour Reviews: Janet Jackson's Feedback

Fashiggity Note: I'm only able to listen to a whole album through is during my shitty ass work commute from Santa Monica to Burbank. I might as well dedicate my first to Penny.

Every Janet album after Velvet rope follows the same ass pattern. Hot opening single and then a month later, people forget about the album. Not to say that Janet's albums after Velvet Rope sucked, they just dont have the lasting impressions as "Janet" (my all time fave), "Control," and "Rhythm Nation."

There are two notable cuts through simply because they evoke images from a bygone era. "Can't B Good" has Janet sounding like her older brother when he still had the Jerri Curl. "Never Letchu Go" takes Janet back to the "Lets Wait Awhile" days when you were still young, when you didn't know that sex could complicate a friendship. Its a great listen if you're yearning for a cheesy love song thatll take you back to them days.

The whole album is not bad at all, its just not up to par with her classics. As with Damita Jo and 20 years old, you'll forget about it in due time. Still, if you have it, it's a nice listen.

Sleepless in Santa Monica

So I had a bangin night at Hermosa last night, but there were drama amongst friends in the crevices. The whole day I was slothing it, sleeping in as much as I can, talking to Char the whole day about the drama and trying to make contact with a new friend which started out kinda risky. I guess I'm paying for sleeping the whole day since it is 2 in the morning and I have work in a couple hours.

Fresh from scanning a shitload of pics from my album through facebook, it seems as though 2008 is the year I begin to bring my imagination to life. Alongside my side filming projects, I start to venture into the business of my imagination, and frankly I haven't been this gung ho about my story ideas since college. When you live in a city full of budding artists, it's pretty hard to shake your imagination away and once you learn how to get the tools to do it, you can only go ahead. I think this is why I can't sleep (even though I did have some Lipton Green Tea earlier).

1 - My Manga Venture
I collaborated with the homie John to write a full fledged manga (A comic book for those of you that are not familiar with Japanese culture). We bounced MAD ideas off each other. Now the trick is, putting words on a word document to make a story tangible enough to read.

2 - My Video Game idea
I had this idea in my head a couple years ago when I worked in EA. My mission is to find a team of designers, animators, and programmers who can put it to life.

3 - My Memoirs
I have a lot of shit to vent about the past couple of years. The homie Dinji says 'go for it!'

What's keeping me sleepless is that I still have my film shit to do and I feel more than motivated to do the last 3. If I could split myself into 4 people, I could just do that. Maybe I'm doing it now and its causing me to lose sleep. Either way, it feels really good to dream about these things and if I have to put my body on the line to make this a reality so be it.
